Rakuten TV is a leading streaming platform, available in 42 countries of Europe, which offers premium Hollywood and local content across various types of access: Transactional Video-on-demand (ie buy or rent movies), AVOD (advertising-based on-demand content) or FAST (linear free TV channels with ads).It is available across multiple devices, such as CTV, mobile, web, and Telcos set top boxes.

We are looking for an experienced and talented Legal & Compliance Junior Counsel to provide legal advice regarding Rakuten TV´s activities to ensure law compliance and to work with other internal business departments in the negotiation and drafting of agreements with third parties. This person will be part of the legal and compliance team and will be based in Barcelona.

Responsibilities  

  • Support and develop a culture of compliance and integrity at Rakuten TV. 

  • Draft and review compliance manuals and policies, aligning them with the requirements of HQ, as well as with those necessary due to the applicable regulations. 

  • Develop and deliver compliance training sessions for employees. 

  • Draft, review and negotiate all types of agreements (content, partnerships, promotional campaigns, general services, etc.). 

  • Provide legal advice to all areas and activities of the company (IP, advertising, data protection, promotions, consumer law, etc.) as needed and requested by the teams. 

  • Coordinate with external consultants and advisors when needed. 

Requirements  

  • University Degree in Laws. Specialization in Compliance is a plus. 

  • At least 3 years of experience in a legal and/or compliance position, preferably within an international environment. 

  • In-house experience at an audiovisual/entertainment, tech, or multinational company is a plus. 

  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills. 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. 

  • High energy and creativity. 

  • Experience working internationally, across different time zones. 

  • Languages: Spanish and English (most of the tasks shall be delivered in English and the candidate must be able to negotiate in English).
