The role We’re looking for a General Counsel to help Affinda scale from $20+ million revenue to $100+ million over the coming years.
This is a high impact role within a rapidly growing AI scale-up, where you will lead the legal function with a clear mandate to support the growth of the business. You must be a systems thinker, be proactive in your adoption of AI and have a highly commercial mindset.

You will:
Refine and maintain standardised customer contract templates.
Establish playbooks to support scalable contracting processes.
Support sales with clear, pragmatic and timely legal advice.
Promote a commercial pragmatic, solutions-oriented culture within the legal function.
Advise on privacy, data protection, IP and information security.
Support corporate projects, capital raisings and strategic transactions.
Maintain practical governance, risk and compliance frameworks.
Manage relationships with external counsel.
Partner with legal tech product teams on strategy and feedback.
What you'll bring Essential:
3+ years leading a legal function (e.g. in-house legal counsel) or business unit (e.g. GM)
Expertise in contract law with experience negotiating complex commercial contracts
Commercial judgement that appropriately balances growth and risk
Systems mindset, with a focus on building scalable processes to support growth
Genuine curiosity about AI and comfort adopting modern AI tools in your own workflow
Nice to have:
In-house experience in a high-growth tech business
Experience with international contracting, data and regulatory issues
