The following position is to join our RTX Corporate DPA Compliance Program Office Team.

RTX has a unique career opportunity for an Associate Director and Assistant General Counsel to join RTX’s DPA Compliance Program Office (DPA PMO) team providing dedicated support related to Raytheon’s and RTX’s obligations under its two deferred prosecution agreements (DPAs) with the U.S. Department of Justice and administrative order with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC Order).  This position is for an experienced attorney who will report to the DPA PMO RTX Senior Director and Associate General Counsel. 

The successful candidate will join a team of attorneys and professionals who work closely with the RTX Chief Compliance Officer and the RTX and Raytheon Global Ethics and Compliance (GEC) leadership and teams to help manage and track the company’s obligations under the DPAs/SEC Order and liaise with the independent compliance monitor.  The successful candidate will be highly motivated, highly organized and adept at building positive business relationships with the GEC teams and a wide variety of internal stakeholders.  

Key responsibilities: The successful candidate will work well in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, developing relationships with internal clients and collaborating with multiple functions.

What You Will Do:  

  • Assist with site visits and other activities to facilitate Monitor access to relevant information and personnel, working with legal, finance, and other functions as needed.
  • Provide legal advice related to and lead response to internal and external inquiries related to the DPAs/SEC Order.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to employees related to the obligations and requirements of the DPAs/SEC Order.
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing internal presentations with sensitivity for legal requirements under the DPAs/SEC Order.
  • Assist with document collection and production.
  • Work with outside legal counsel.
  • Up to 25% travel or as needed

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
  • Juris doctor with at least six (6) years of experience in a law firm, federal government agency, or in-house counsel for a large, multinational corporation.; Admitted to practice law in the U.S., with active bar membership in at least one state.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to deliver crisp, relevant messaging up, down and across the organization.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working within a cross-functional, highly matrixed organization, and building positive relationships with internal business clients.
  • History of collaborating well with others and managing multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Judgment and demonstrated ability to constructively and appropriately provide leadership to internal clients.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Knowledge of anti-bribery law and compliance.
  • Knowledge of government contracts law and compliance, including TINA compliance.
  • Familiarity with attorney-client, work product, and other privileges.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Preferred candidates will be located in the Washington D.C., Arlington, VA area. However, candidates that are located within 50 miles of a RTX site location will also be considered.

The salary range for this role is 172,900 USD - 328,700 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
