Independence Title in the Austin Area, Texas (Main Office), a wholly owned subsidiary of Anywhere Integrated Services, is seeking an Assistant to General Counsel. Anywhere Integrated Services is a full-service title, settlement, underwriting and vendor management services company serving real estate companies, affinity groups, corporations and financial institutions in support of residential and commercial real estate transactions.
The Assistant to General Counsel is responsible for:
Drafting indemnities, curative instruments, affidavits, contracts, and other transactional documents for review and approval by General Counsel.
Reviewing and annotating vendor agreements, office leases, and other third‑party contracts.
Supporting company regulatory compliance, including FinCEN real estate reporting.
Preparing draft responses to Department of Insurance (DOI) and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) complaints.
Conducting legal research and assisting with legal analysis for employee training materials and presentations.
Managing the General Counsel’s calendar, appointments, and meetings.
Maintaining and updating legal and educational resources on the shared company network.
Reviewing proposed litigation filings, tracking company litigation matters, and coordinating with outside counsel as directed.
Attorneys will be attending depositions, hearings, and similar legal proceedings as a company representative and reporting outcomes to General Counsel.
Coordinating and preparing document production in response to subpoenas, summons, or similar legal requests.
Maintaining and updating company legal forms in escrow software.

Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-Approved law school preferred
Licensed to practice by Texas State Bar preferred
Non-Attorneys:
Paralegal experience in drafting corporate and/or transactional documents
Legal research experience in support of litigation
College degree or equivalent
Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and legal research tools such as Westlaw (or equivalent).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong legal research and analytical abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
