Job Description Summary

GE Vernova seeks to recruit an exceptional Associate General Counsel for our Wind segment to be based in Germany, but to have greater regional responsibility. This role requires broad legal expertise with a background in large-scale project management, complex commercial transactions, and a proven ability to provide senior-level counsel and advisory. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a multinational corporate environment, ideally within the energy, industrial, or EPC sectors. This role requires exceptional judgment, business acumen, superior leadership, and the ability to effectively navigate a dynamic and complex industry landscape.

Job Description

Provide strategic legal advice to the Wind segment teams, principally in Europe

•            Lead legal & compliance strategy and direction for the Wind segment in conjunction other internal Counsels and in close coordination with the Wind segment Global Legal & Compliance team

•            Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with large-scale projects, including negotiation, drafting, execution, interpretation and review of complex agreements.

•            Advise business on new, changing, and unique regulatory and compliance issues in the region.

•            Support segment litigation, arbitration, mediation and dispute resolution

•            Manage outside counsel and associated spend in conjunction with the legal general and specialty practice group leaders.

•            Advise on a wide range of legal matters, including but not limited to: commercial contracts, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution and litigation.

•            Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with the business objectives of the Wind segment.

•            Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including finance, sourcing, business development, and operations.

•            Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high ethical standards within the Wind segment.

•            Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

•            Qualified to practice law in Germany

•            Significant experience (10+ years) as a practicing attorney, with a portion of that time spent at a top law firm.

•            Proven track record of successfully managing a team in a multinational corporate setting.

•            Extensive experience in complex commercial transactions and large-scale project contracts.

•            Demonstrated ability to provide senior-level legal advice and counsel to executive leadership.

•            Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

•            Strong understanding of renewable energy industry and regulatory landscapes

•            Experience with EPC projects.

•            Background in a project-oriented, industrial company

•            Knowledge of regulatory frameworks in various jurisdictions.
