An investment organisation is seeking an experienced Co-Head of Legal & Compliance to jointly lead the organisation's legal and compliance function. This is a senior position suited to a commercially minded legal professional who can provide strategic legal guidance, regulatory oversight and transaction support, while working closely with senior leadership and external advisers.
Key Responsibilities
Jointly lead the legal and compliance function.
Advise senior leadership on legal, regulatory and compliance matters.
Oversee regulatory compliance and reporting requirements.
Monitor changes in applicable legislation and regulatory frameworks.
Provide corporate and company secretarial support.
Assist with the establishment and administration of legal entities.
Oversee KYC and related compliance processes.
Manage relevant insurance matters.
Provide legal support to investment and transaction teams.
Review NDAs, term sheets, engagement letters and related documentation.
Assist with investment agreements and other transaction documentation.
Support KYC and due diligence processes.
Work with external legal advisers on specialist matters.
Maintain internal legal templates, contracts and records.
Provide advice on employment-related legal matters and other operational issues.
Assist with disputes, litigation and arbitration matters.
Manage relationships with external law firms and professional advisers.
Assist with the implementation and integration of relevant technology tools.
Minimum Requirements
LLB degree.
Admitted Attorney.
Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience.
Strong academic record.
Experience within financial services, investment management, funds, banking or a similar regulated environment would be advantageous.
Exposure to multiple jurisdictions will be beneficial.
Strong knowledge of AML, KYC and regulatory compliance.
Excellent commercial judgement and ability to advise senior stakeholders.
Comfortable operating independently with limited supervision.
Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills.
Professional, highly discreet and able to manage sensitive matters.
Comfortable working with external advisers and stakeholders across different jurisdictions.
Adaptable and willing to take ownership of new and unfamiliar areas.
