Commercial Counsel

Overview

Fanatics Betting & Gaming (FBG) is seeking a talented, collaborative Commercial Counsel with 4 years of relevant legal experience to join our growing Legal team. This role will support a wide range of commercial matters across the business, including technology and product-related agreements, vendor and platform partnerships, and marketing, loyalty, and talent agreements.

The Commercial Counsel will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders—including Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Operations—to deliver practical, business-oriented legal guidance in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including:
  • Platform, data, and strategic partnership agreements
  • Sponsorship, marketing, and promotional agreements
  • Loyalty, rewards, and customer engagement partnerships
  • Vendor, technology, SaaS, and services agreements
• Provide strategic and practical legal advice on contract structure, negotiation strategy, and risk management.
• Collaborate with business partners to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement of contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and legal workflows to enhance efficiency and consistency.
• Manage and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
• Support the broader organization in building and scaling a leading digital gaming platform.

Skills & Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) with a strong academic background and the highest level of integrity.
• 4 years of legal experience, including significant experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Experience with marketing, technology, or product-focused agreements is a plus.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to assess both legal risk and business impact.
• Sound judgment and a practical, solutions-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders.
• Self-motivated team player who thrives in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
• Interest or experience in sports, entertainment, or gaming is a plus.

The base salary range for this role is $180,000 per year - $200,000 per year, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role is eligible for the Fanatics Betting and Gaming annual bonus program and an equity award.
