Complex Commercial Auto Litigation Specialist (Claims Counsel) | Remote

 Our client, an A+ rated P&C insurance leader, is seeking to add a Complex Commercial Auto & Coverage Claims Specialist to their remote team! This individual will be an acknowledged technical expert related to Commercial Auto and Trucking claims, responsible for resolving losses posing the highest exposure to the company. The position will have significant autonomy as well as work closely with internal legal and underwriting business partners. Qualified candidates must have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for handling the most complex/high exposure Commercial Auto, Trucking, and Bodily Injury claims throughout the United States.
• Handle claims involving serious injuries, disputed liability, complex fact patterns, and high exposure settlement negotiations.
• Analyze coverage, communicate coverage positions and manage related coverage litigation.
• Evaluate information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of insured's exposure and set/propose reserves in line with analysis
• Negotiate and settle claims, where appropriate or provide supported recommendations for trying claims, where appropriate
• Establish timely and appropriate reserves based on investigation findings and anticipated exposure.
• Collaborate with defense counsel, internal leadership, vendors, and other stakeholders to develop litigation and resolution strategies.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of Commercial Auto and Litigation claims handling experience, with a strong focus on complex/high exposure claims.
• Juris Doctorate is required.
• Proven ability to evaluate liability, comparative negligence, causation, and damages in complex claim scenarios.
• Experience handling litigated claims and working directly with defense counsel through resolution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write clear, thorough claim documentation and reports.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base salary: $130,000 – $170,000, depending on experience plus lucrative bonus
