Your Next Career Opportunity – Corporate Counsel II, Real Estate

Provide legal support for our high-volume communications infrastructure’ real estate portfolio. The role will focus on drafting, reviewing, negotiating and redlining real estate agreements, including ground leases, easements, and fee simple acquisitions, as well as supervision and time-management of administrative staff and paralegals. The ideal candidate shall be able to responsibly self-start and logically self-prioritize matters in a fast-paced environment with a wide range of hierarchical positions. The attorney will partner cross-functionally with other departments and play a key role in managing and executing real estate transactions from inception through closing.   


What You Will Do – Primary Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and redline real estate agreements, including:
    • Ground Leases
    • Tenant Leases
    • Easements
    • Purchase Agreements
    • Closing Documents
    • Various other contracts and agreements
  • Analyze title commitments, survey and other due diligence materials; work with internal colleagues to identify and resolve title and survey issues
  • Manage real estate transactions through closing
    • Ensure timely and accurate closings
    • Prioritize deal demands
    • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, sellers, and title agents
  • Provide legal guidance and respond to real estate related questions
  • Assist with amendments, extensions, terminations, expansions, assignments, and other modifications to existing real estate agreements
  • Supervision and management of administrative staff and paralegals and, if and as needed, outside counsel

What You’ll Need – Qualifications & Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 3-6 years of experience practicing real estate law in a law firm or in-house for a multinational company
  • Sophisticated real estate knowledge highly preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail in the preparation and review of contracts and supporting documents
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks within agreed upon timeframes
