Verisure is seeking a talented, dynamic and resourceful Group Procurement Legal Counsel with experience in commercial contracting, to be part of a passionate team enabling sustainable business growth.  The role will be a part of our fast-growing Legal team and will report to our Group Head Procurement Counsel.

This is a varied role in which the Group Procurement Legal Counsel will work alongside specialist legal colleagues in IP, Data Privacy, AI, Innovation and Compliance.  The successful person will work closely with the Group Procurement and Technology team, as well as Quality Assurance, Marketing, IT, Finance and HR.

The person will be expected to have immediate impact. He/she will partner in identifying actionable solutions for risk mitigation and commercial contracting.

The person must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, agile, international, and entrepreneurial business environment. The role is based in Geneva, or Madrid.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Partnering with the Group Procurement and Technology teams to draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial supplier agreements, from routine contracts to high-value and complex transactions.
  • Working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to ensure that the contractual terms are compliant with legal, regulatory, company policies and risk preferences while driving the best commercial outcomes across the Group.
  • Providing commercial legal advice and supporting stakeholders in relation to supplier relationships, contract performance and new business initiatives generally, providing timely, pragmatic and solution-oriented advice.
  • Working with the Group Head Procurement Counsel to streamline and standardize the contracting process, including developing contracting templates, guidelines, processes and best practices.

Candidate profile

Experiences and Qualifications

The candidate must be a qualified lawyer with a demonstrable knowledge, experience and interest in commercial contracting.  He/she will have exceptional analytical and communication skills together with a pragmatic and resilient approach.  

In terms of experience, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience gained in a global and fast-paced organization.
  • Solid experience in drafting in English and handling negotiations in close partnership with other functions.
  • A successful track record of providing commercial advice and guidance to the business.
  • At least seven years of experience from a major law firm or a business with a strong international footprint.
  • Fluency in English is required; Spanish would be an asset.
  • Potential for development, appetite to be challenged and energy to learn is key!

  • Be an effective communicator, with the ability to convey complex legal and commercial matters in a clear, consistent and accessible manner to a variety of stakeholders across the business.
