Role Overview 


The Head of Legal and Compliance reports directly to the CEO and serves as the company’s senior legal authority across all jurisdictions in which EdgeUno operates. This role provides strategic legal guidance to executive leadership while ensuring operational excellence in legal, regulatory, and compliance matters. The position leads a regional legal team based in Brazil, Colombia, and Peru, overseeing the consistency, quality, and alignment of legal practices across the organization. 

The ideal candidate combines strategic vision with strong operational capability, being able to act as a trusted advisor at the executive and board level while also engaging directly in complex negotiations, regulatory matters, and high-impact legal situations when necessary. 

 

Core Responsibilities 


1. Regional Legal Leadership and Governance

  • Lead and coordinate a regional legal and compliance team across Brazil, Colombia, and Peru
  • Provide strategic legal direction aligned with corporate growth and regional expansion
  • Advise the CEO and executive leadership on legal exposure, governance, and risk mitigation
  • Support board-level governance matters and fiduciary responsibilities


 2. Regulatory and Industry Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with applicable local and international laws across telecom, digital infrastructure, cloud, employment, and corporate operations
  • Oversee licensing, regulatory filings, and interactions with telecom and infrastructure authorities acrossjurisdictions

  • Monitorregulatory developments and anticipate their strategic impact on the business
     
  • Represent the company before regulatory authorities when


 3. Corporate Governance and Risk Management

  • Strengthen the corporate governance framework and internal legal controls
  • Develop andmaintaincompliance programs, including ethics, anti-corruption, and whistleblower mechanisms 

  • Identifyand mitigate legal and regulatory risks across jurisdictions
     
  • Align legal oversight with financial, operational, and strategic priorities

 

4. Contracting and Strategic Transactions

  • Oversee drafting and negotiation of customer, vendor, partnership, and employment agreements
  • Standardize contract governance processes across the region
  • Lead or supervise legal due diligence and support mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions
  • Engage directly in high complexity negotiations when


5. Litigation and External Counsel Management

  

  • Coordinate litigation, disputes, and regulatory investigations
  • Manage relationships with external counsel across multiple countries
  • Control legal cost exposure while ensuring high quality representation


6. Data Privacy and Information Security

  • Ensure compliance with applicable data protection and privacy regulations acrossjurisdictions
  • Align legal controls with IT, cybersecurity, and information security frameworks

 

Requirements 

  • Advanced English C1 or higher
  • Law degree with active bar admission in at least onejurisdiction
  • 10+ years of experience in senior legal and compliance roles
  • Proven experience leading legal teams in multi country or regional environments
  • Experience advising C level executives or reporting directly to CEO or board
  • Strong experience in regulated industries

  • Demonstrated
    expertise in contract negotiation, regulatory affairs, and corporate governance
     
  • Experience managing litigation and coordinating external counsel
  • Solid understanding of data protection and compliance frameworks

 

Nice to Have 

  • Experience in telecom, digital infrastructure, wholesale connectivity, or similar sectors
  • Experience supporting cross border transactions or regional expansion
  • Exposure to high growth or fast scaling environments
