Job Description
You join a fast-growing international tech company to combine hands-on commercial contracting with day-to-day privacy leadership, reporting to the Head of Legal (based in Lyon), with one goal: enable growth while keeping risk under control.
On the Commercial and Contract Law side:
- You draft, review, and negotiate B2B SaaS customer agreements, NDAs, and supplier/partner contracts in French and English (customer work is the priority, around 70% of your time).
- You lead international negotiations, including preparing positions, running negotiation calls, and securing pragmatic compromises.
- You support the Team handling calls for tenders (RFPs), including contract review and written answers on privacy and security topics.
- You maintain and improve a repository of templates, playbooks, and supporting documentation to ensure consistent contracting.
- You manage debt collection topics with Finance and handle customer disputes, pre-litigation matters, or litigation when needed (around 10% of your time).
- You act as the go-to legal advisor across departments, providing practical, business-oriented guidance.
- You run legal watch to anticipate changes impacting the business.
On the Data Protection side:
- You review and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with customers and suppliers.
- You support customer audits, privacy assessments, and RFP privacy questionnaires.
- You draft, review, and maintain internal privacy documentation (policies, assessments, records of processing, subcontractor lists).
- You monitor compliance with data protection laws across Europe, the US, and India.
Expected ramp-up:
- You master internal processes, tools, and documentation and progressively take ownership of contractual matters within your first 3 months.
- You advise other teams independently within your first 6 months.
- You lead customer negotiations autonomously and act as a trusted business partner within your first year.
