Our Head Office is based in Stockton-on-Tees and is home to our administrative support teams, engineering & maintenance support team & energy services teams. The Offices are located on the river Tees with close access to walks, shops and restaurants.
The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Legal Counsel. The primary function of this position is to provide timely and quality legal and commercial advice to the px group of companies and assist other members of the Legal Team in providing leadership, direction and management of px’s legal strategy and actions.
You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
Key Responsibilities

Provide timely and accurate legal advice to px stakeholders to support informed decision making.

Provide sound and pragmatic legal/contractual solutions to business matters, mitigating commercial risk whilst maintaining business focus.

Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts

Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal document retention systems and precedents bank.

Provide ad-hoc contracts training and other agreed training to stakeholders within the business.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Minimum Requirements:
-
A law degree, or other degree plus CPE, or equivalent legal qualification
-
Previous experience working in a busy legal environment.

Experience of reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts including: variations, heads of terms, memorandums of understanding, supply of good/services agreements etc.

Experience of drafting, reviewing and negotiating various ancillary agreements such as NDA’s, licenses, letters of intent etc.

Experience of maintaining professional competency by monitoring legal developments & learnings and communicating to legal colleagues.
