Description

As Legal Counsel for the Group you will act as a trusted legal business partner across our markets and central functions, supporting Senior and Lead Legal Counsel and reporting into the Group GC. With a strong focus on commercial contracts, privacy, and intellectual property, you will contribute to critical business initiatives and operations, support legal compliance, and help shape the legal function to support Selecta’s strategic ambitions.

Legal Advisory & Operations

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, especially sales, procurement, and technology contracts.
  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements with public bodies and support tender process.
  • Research and advise on compliance with applicable data protection laws, IP rights.
  • Support labour law and litigation matters.

Business Partnering

  • Serve as a legal advisor across the Group.
  • Partner with central functions such as Human Resources, Technology, and Marketing on operational matters.
  • Provide legal input on cross-functional group initiatives and business transformation projects.
  • Assist with all aspects of legal and litigation reporting, external counsel management and legal invoicing.

Governance & Compliance

  • Assist with corporate governance and legal entity maintenance.
  • Liaise with and supervise external legal counsel for local entity support and regulatory matters.
  • Support compliance efforts across local operations and ensure alignment with Group governance frameworks.

Legal Function Development

Help structure an agile and scalable legal function by:

  • Developing and maintaining contract templates, policies, and training materials.
  • Contributing to process improvement, including the implementation of legal tech tools.
  • Collaborate closely with Legal team and other central functions.
  • Engage with leadership, country management, and finance stakeholders to support business goals and ensure legal compliance where required.

Requirements

Education

  • Qualification as an attorney.

Languages

  • English (Fluent), German (Fluent / Business). Proficiency in other European languages is not essential, but an advantage.

Legal Expertise

  • Minimum 2-4 years post-qualification experience as a legal counsel, ideally with a combination of in-house and law firm exposure. More experience welcome.
  • Proven expertise in contract law, particularly in sales and procurement agreements, and in labor law.
  • Sound knowledge of corporate law and experience in corporate governance.
  • Exposure to litigation matters and involvement in financing or restructuring projects is an advantage but not essential.

Other Information

Travel: Occasional travel to European group locations may be required.

Work Model: Regular presence at the London office (minimum 2-3 days).

Compensation: Competitive. based on experience and profile.
