Job Description

ACCIONA AUNZ is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our Melbourne‑based Legal team, supporting major construction and infrastructure projects across Australia.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will support the Legal Department in delivering high‑quality, practical legal advice across the business. You will work closely with senior internal stakeholders and external legal advisers on a range of commercial, contracts, and dispute‑related matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research on relevant legislation, regulations, and case law
  • Support Senior Legal Counsel on litigation and arbitration matters, including coordination with external lawyers
  • Assist with the preparation of legal submissions, reports, and presentations
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, clients, and witnesses on legal matters
  • Contribute to legal activity reporting and practice management registers
  • Assist with reviewing and developing internal policies and procedures
  • Identify and escalate legal risks where required
     

About You

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain legal concepts clearly to non‑legal stakeholders
  • Proactive, detail‑oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Current Australian Practising Certificate or relevant Foreign Lawyer Registration
  • Approximately 1–4 years’ post‑qualification experience, preferably in construction, engineering, or infrastructure‑related legal work
