RoyalJet is seeking a motivated and commercially minded Legal Counsel to support the business across a broad range of legal and regulatory matters. The role will provide hands-on legal advice to internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations while supporting operational, commercial and strategic objectives in a dynamic aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support on commercial contracts, procurement agreements, and vendor arrangements.
  • Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including service agreements, NDAs, MOUs and licensing agreements.
  • Support compliance with UAE laws, aviation regulations and internal corporate governance requirements.
  • Assist in managing disputes, claims and litigation matters in coordination with external legal counsel.
  • Advise business units on legal risks and propose practical, business-focused solutions.
  • Support regulatory and authority-related matters, including engagement with relevant government and aviation bodies.
  • Maintain and update legal templates, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to risk management, ethics, and compliance initiatives across the organisation.
  • Support contract lifecycle management, including monitoring renewals, amendments, and obligations.
  • Assist with data protection, confidentiality, and information security compliance matters.
  • Provide legal input on strategic projects, partnerships, and commercial initiatives.
  • Support internal investigations and compliance reviews, as required.
  • Deliver legal awareness and guidance sessions to business stakeholders where necessary.

Skills

  • Qualified lawyer (preferably admitted in a common law jurisdiction)
  • UAE National candidates are preferred
  • 2–5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
  • Aviation industry experience preferred
  • Strong background in commercial law and/or experience within a reputable law firm is desirable.
  • Experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of UAE laws and regulatory frameworks (aviation regulatory exposure is an advantage).
  • Arabic language skills are an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
