We’re seeking an enthusiastic corporate Legal Counsel to join our growing in house team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in Australia’s energy transition and contribute to projects that matter.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Counsel – Corporate and Regulatory, you’ll partner with APA’s business to provide strategic legal advice and deliver results.  You will help support APA’s growth on high profile M&A and corporate finance projects, as well as general corporate matters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Helping to deliver key corporate transactions, including reviewing transaction documents, coordinating due diligence and managing external counsel.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to enable successful transaction delivery.
  • Advising on day to day corporate, commercial and financing issues.

About You

You are a qualified lawyer with a full practising certificate in an Australian jurisdiction and 3–7 years of post-qualification experience. You bring:

  • A pragmatic and flexible approach to problem-solving.
  • Curiosity, a positive attitude and willingness to pitch in to deliver results.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in any of the following areas will be highly regarded:
    • Corporate Finance
    • Energy industry
    • Joint ventures
    • Capital markets – debt and equity
    • ESG reporting
