Legal Counsel – Property Leasing & Mergers & Acquisitions

Australian Venue Co. is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Legal Counsel to join our high performing Legal team at our new Melbourne CBD head office. This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact, fast-paced role supporting one of Australia’s most evolving hospitality groups as we continue our rapid national growth.

You’ll work closely with our Business Development, Property and Procurement teams, providing pragmatic legal support across property leasing, acquisitions, greenfield projects, strategic procurement and general commercial matters.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing end-to-end legal support on leasing transactions and acquisition opportunities, partnering closely with our Business Development & Property teams
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and supplier agreements for our Procurement team
  • Advising on a broad range of matters including disputes, intellectual property, regulatory compliance and general commercial queries
  • Working collaboratively with senior stakeholders across the business in a fast-paced, agile environment

 

About You

You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:

  • 3–5 years Post-Qualification Experience in commercial, corporate, or property law
  • Strong understanding of contractual and commercial law, particularly leasing matters
  • A current Victorian practising certificate
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills
  • A proactive, collaborative working style and a commercial mindset
  • The ability to prioritise effectively in a dynamic, growth-focused environment
