About the Role
As a Legal Counsel with a specific focus on crypto-products, you will act as the key legal partner embedded in the product development lifecycle. You will work closely with Legal, Product, Compliance, and Engineering teams to assess and structure new digital asset products from the earliest concept stage through launch. Your role is to ensure that innovative products are built on legally sound foundations by evaluating regulatory, contractual, and compliance implications across custody, trading, tokenization, and related services. You will design scalable legal frameworks, define clear product guardrails, and structure agreements with external partners such as custodians, liquidity providers, vendors, and infrastructure partners. You will enable the business to innovate responsibly by translating complex regulatory requirements into practical, product-ready solutions. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of MiCAR and EU financial regulation who enjoys working at the intersection of law, product strategy, and emerging financial infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Act as the legal sparring partner for Product, Compliance, and Tech teams from the early product development stage onward.
• Provide holistic legal assessments covering regulatory, civil, contractual, and compliance implications of new products.
• Structure legally sound product and third-party frameworks, including vendor, API, liquidity, custody, and infrastructure agreements.
• Draft, negotiate, and review product-related contracts, terms & conditions, and internal policies with strong legal and risk evaluation.
• Support the development of innovative digital asset products while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Translate regulatory requirements into practical legal frameworks and product guardrails.
• Build scalable legal guidelines and governance structures to support fast, compliant product development.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and external partners on new product initiatives.
Your knowledge areas and experience:
• 6+ years PQE - Qualified lawyer in a European jurisdiction (local qualification is a must, depending on location).
• Strong understanding of CASP-regulated activities including custody, trading, structuring, and tokenization.
• Prior experience in FinTech, RegTech, or digital assets environments.
• Solid understanding of MiCAR, MiFID II and broader EU financial regulatory frameworks.
• Experience structuring and reviewing agreements related to liquidity providers, custodians, APIs, vendors, and infrastructure partners.
• Strong capability to assess regulatory implications of product innovations in fast-moving environments.
• Business-minded approach balancing regulatory risk with innovation.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams during product design and implementation.
• Structured, pragmatic, and solution-oriented mindset in complex regulatory environments.
• Fluent in English.
Why Join Us:
• Join a forward-thinking digital assets and fintech company operating at the forefront of regulated crypto infrastructure in Europe.
• Work at the intersection of law, product, and innovation, shaping how new financial products are designed and launched in a MiCAR-regulated environment.
• Have real impact: your legal expertise will directly influence how the company structures products, partnerships, and client offering expansion.
• Be embedded with Product, Engineering, and Leadership teams, acting as a strategic sparring partner rather than a traditional legal gatekeeper.
• Attractive compensation package aligned with experience and market benchmarks.
• High-impact role with strong ownership in a fast-growing and entrepreneurial environment.
• Collaborative and international culture, working with a highly motivated team building the next generation of financial infrastructure.
