Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel – Insurance & Contract Risk Management to join our team in UAE or Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance law and contract risk management, with experience in international law firms or in-house roles for multinational companies. This role will focus on managing insurable risk, advising on insurance-related legal matters, reviewing tenders and advising on legal and contractual risks, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.

What You'll Be Doing;

  • Oversee and manage a diverse portfolio of corporate and project-specific insurance policies, including property, liability, professional liability, and specialized coverages.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on insurance-related legal issues, regulatory matters, and risk management strategies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop tailored insurance solutions for project and organizational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international insurance regulations and corporate governance standards.
  • Lead development of downstream insurance specifications for subcontracts and procurement operations.
  • Review and analyze tender documents to identify legal and contractual risks and provide strategic advice to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with commercial, procurement, and project teams to structure contracts that balance business objectives with risk mitigation.
  • Negotiate and draft complex contracts to ensure alignment with company policies and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including insurance providers, brokers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Monitor changes in laws and regulations and provide proactive guidance.
  • Ad-hoc legal counsel support, as and when may be required.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Law degree from a recognized university; admission to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 7 years of post-qualification experience, including roles in international law firms or in-house for multinational companies.
  • Proven expertise in insurance law, contract negotiation and contract risk management.
  • Familiarity with insurance markets and regulatory environments in the GCC.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the engineering or construction sector is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is required.
