Legal Counsel (Maternity Cover) - Financial Services

Are you a seasoned legal professional looking for your next high-impact project? We are seeking a versatile Legal Consultant to join our client for a short-term engagement.

This role is ideal for a practitioner with a strong financial services background who is familiar with Singapore regulatory landscape who enjoys the fast-paced nature of transactional work and wants to maintain their edge in the Singapore market.

The Opportunity You will step directly into a collaborative environment, providing critical support across our legal and operational workstreams. This isn't just about "filling a gap"—you’ll be a key player in:

• Transactional Execution: Leading the review and negotiation of NDAs, service agreements, and product term sheets.
• Deal Flow Management: Owning the "end-to-end" of document status, from stakeholder follow-ups to compiling final execution versions.
• Strategic Support: Advising internal departments (Compliance, Ops, Front Office) on immediate legal queries.
• Regulatory Research: Conducting targeted deep-dives into the evolving regulatory landscape.
• Operational Excellence: Helping us refine our contract databases and legal record-keeping systems.

Who You Are We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running. You’ll be a great fit if you have:

• Regional Expertise: Solid experience with the Singapore legal framework, specifically the Securities and Futures Act 2001, FAA, and Companies Act 1967.
• Financial Pedigree: A background in a financial institution or a top-tier law firm (ideally 7+ years PQE)
• Agility: The ability to manage multiple workstreams with high meticulousness and  minimal hand-holding.
• Communication: Sharp written and verbal English skills to navigate complex internal and external negotiations.
