What you will enjoy doing
- You are
primary counsel and trusted advisor for Energy & Environmental law and
Procurement as well as for German Functions
Operations, Business Management Productivity, Procurement, SHEQ, Digitalization
and Real Estate
- Your
sparring partners also include the Energy, Operational and Procurement teams at
EMEA, level. You will be an integral part of the Global Law Department, the
EMEA Legal Team and the respective Sub-Operations & Services Management
Teams
- You will
be dealing with exciting European, German and other national Energy and Climate
Change Law Matters, including European and National Emissions Trading Laws,
CCS/CCU projects, electrolysis opportunities and other aspects of the European
and German decarbonization strategies
- You will
team up with local/specialist counsels
across EMEA in the drafting and commenting of relevant procurement and sales
(including, but not limited to onsite gas supply contracts) documents for
Linde’s legal entities contracting under different European laws, including on
(Green) Hydrogen, Carbon Capture Storage/Utilization, Ammonia back-cracking and
other decarbonization or traditional industry or specialist applications

- Furthermore, depending on business priorities and your individual interests, you will contribute to a diverse portfolio of legal matters spanning operational activities, procurement, Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, regulatory compliance, and litigation, providing a unique opportunity to develop a well-rounded and impactful legal career within the organization.
What makes you great
- You are
a fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist) with both German State
Examinations at least completed with distinction (Prädikatsexamen). You bring
practical experience in the energy sector, preferably acquired in Germany.
Additional qualifications in other European jurisdictions and/or expertise in
EU regulatory or public law are considered a strong asset
- You have
profound knowledge of European and German laws, in particular Energy and
Environmental laws, and experience in related administrative processes
- At least
3+years’ post qualification/graduation experience in the relevant areas, out of
which at least 2 years of relevant expertise in a comparable in-house role, as
energy consultancy/auditor, in a law firm or with an energy related public
authority or in-house
- Through your hands-on experience in the gases, chemicals, or broader energy sector, you have developed a strong understanding of industry-specific challenges and are able to translate legal requirements into pragmatic business solutions
- In close collaboration with colleagues across functions, countries, and cultures, you build trusted relationships and effectively contribute to cross-functional and international teams, ensuring alignment between legal, operational, and commercial objectives
- Moreover, you combine excellent organizational and prioritization skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset, while communicating fluently in both German and English. Knowledge of an additional European language is considered a valuable asset that will further enhance your effectiveness in this role
