Legal Counsel (temporary 18 months)

We are now looking for a Legal Counsel to join Valmet’s Automation Solutions and Flow Control legal team as a parental leave substitute for the period 15 May 2026 – 31 October 2027.

In this role, you will support the business with practical, business-oriented legal advice in a truly global operating environment. You will report to the VP, Legal and work in close collaboration with business stakeholders, Automation Solutions and Flow Control legal team and the global legal community.

The primary location for this position is Tampere, with Tikkurila, Vantaa as an alternative location.

Your role and responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
• Providing legal advice to internal stakeholders, including legal risk analysis on various topics
• Delivering legal trainings for internal stakeholders
• Creating, developing and maintaining legal processes and guidance
• Elaborating and implementing legal policies and processes within the organization
• Developing and managing contract templates
• Supporting and monitoring compliance-related matters

What we expect from you

• Strong legal expertise in commercial law and the ability to apply legal knowledge in a pragmatic, business-oriented way
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a global company or law firm working in a business-to-business environment
• Good communication skills and the ability to provide clear and practical advice to non-legal stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced, international environment
• Sound judgment and strong problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated and proactive working style, with the ability to work independently
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Relevant legal qualification
