Job Description

As a valued contributor to our team, you will consult with team members and management to provide core legal counsel and services to the business, as well as utilize your legal training and experience to guide the Company's business. In this role, you will document and enforce its legal rights, and minimize its legal risks. You will have shared responsibilities for providing legal services to the Company in an area of law or legal risk, such as litigation or credit loss management.

The Multifamily Legal Associate Geneal Counsel role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities: 

  • The attorney will handle a mix of transactional, advisory, and enforcement matters across the Multifamily business and will work closely with internal stakeholders and outside counsel.
  • Provide legal counsel to management and operational leaders on a variety of matters, including CRE finance transactions, mergers & acquisitions, contract interpretation and enforcement, confidentiality and data privacy
  • Partner with management to negotiate and draft contracts, disclosures, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Advise business teams on lender oversight, enforcement actions, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Evaluate high-level legal and regulatory analyses and partner with management to identify and escalate potential regulatory and reputational issues to leadership.
  • Provide legal guidance on data privacy, technology development, digital platforms, and electronic transaction tools
  • Partner with management by providing legal and business advice, counseling business clients related to important issues and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with management and outside counsel on issues of significance for the company.

 

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM 

Minimum Required Experience and Skills:

·       8+ years

·       Proven experience with commercial real estate and commercial real estate finance transactions, including loan documentation and closing process

·       Proven experience with mergers & acquisitions, particularly involving financial institutions

·       Significant experience negotiating and enforcing complex commercial contracts

·        Juris Doctorate

Preferred Experience:

·       Experience advising on technology development, data privacy, or digital transaction platforms

·       Experience working in a highly-regulated environment

·       Familiarity with lender oversight, enforcement actions, or regulatory compliance frameworks

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to, skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and other relevant qualifications.
