Accountabilities
- Review, draft and negotiate a wide array of complex commercial contracts, including vendor and service agreements.
- Advise internal stakeholders on contract terms, legal risks, and their practical implications.
- Lead negotiations and provide legal counsel on strategic partnerships and corporate investment transactions.
- Collaborate with product teams for legal guidance throughout the development lifecycle.
- Provide counsel on corporate governance, insurance matters, and compliance with regulations.
- Act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams, meeting their legal needs.
- Conduct legal research and assist in managing commercial disputes as needed.
- Support day-to-day legal operations and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- ABA accredited JD Degree and active state bar membership required.
- A minimum of five years of experience in contract drafting and negotiation.
- Ability to assess legal and business issues promptly and accurately.
- Familiarity with privacy laws and credit union regulations preferred.
- Experience handling contract disputes and familiarity with litigation processes preferred.
- Background in a corporate legal setting is a plus.
- Experience in technology or financial services sectors preferred.
