Senior Corporate Counsel

 

We have an opportunity for a Senior Corporate Counsel to join our team at Honeywell, in Dublin, where you will provide strategic legal leadership across EMEA, ensuring consistent policies, negotiating commercial disputes, robust contract management and effective risk mitigation to support business objectives. 

 

The business components that the position supports would be Productivity Solutions & Services (PSS), a Gold Business Enterprises (GBE) within Industrial Automation.

 

Honeywell’s PSS GBE creates mobile computers, printers, and data capture devices that improve worker productivity in thousands of companies of all sizes around the world. Honeywell helped pioneer the barcode scanning market in the 1970s, and over the years its new innovations have helped retailers, distribution centers, transportation and logistics, and healthcare organizations achieve significant improvements in efficiency, speed, and accuracy in their operations. 

 

This is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model, with around 15% travel.

Key Responsibilities

This position will provide leadership, direction and consultation to the various EMEA business teams for the legal function, driving consistent policies and processes in support of business and contributing to the organization's achievement of goals. This position will be responsible for: 

  • Reviewing, drafting, negotiating and administering projects documents including a variety of commercial agreements such sales and supply of goods & services, framework agreements, co-operation, operations/maintenance, sub-contract and confidentiality agreements. 
  • Assisting with the RFP processes for tender or auction; Identify and advise the business teams on recommended steps to mitigate potential contractual and commercial risks, considering contracting principles as against actual risks. 
  • Communicating and negotiating with customers. 
  • Provide strategic direction and legal advice to the Sales, Marketing, ISC and Finance teams to understand and ensure consistency with the business and financial requirements and objectives in all contracts.  
  • Providing legal advice on Regulatory matters. 
  • Reviewing marketing and products documentation to ensure consistency and compliance with all laws and regulations. 
  • Participate in managing the contracts’ review process and compliance activities of the contracting function, including use of contract management tools (LEAP, DocuSign, Workflow etc.), maintenance of contract files, and procedures for contract renewal and extension.    
  • Ensuring compliance with company’s policies and processes and conducting trainings.  

 

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • LLB/LLM/JDA or equivalent law degree and admitted to practice.  
  • At least 8 years’ experience gained either in a law firm or in-house in projects within the Industrial, software technology, logistic, supply chain and material handling industries industrial, software and/or construction area. 
  • Proven experience of reviewing, negotiating and advising on tendering contracts and providing legal support on projects including dispute resolution. 
  • Superior contract negotiation and drafting skills are required.  
  • Fluency & drafting ability in English is mandatory. Fluency in German will be considered a strong plus. Other languages such as French, Italian, Spanish and Dutch will be a nice to have.
  • An enthusiastic attitude with strong interpersonal skills, process improvement focus and a desire to enhance the business' transactional oversight and contract excellence initiatives   
  • Strong business acumen along with a strong customer/business partner focus & leadership presence   
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, work independently under general instructions and take the initiative when required within a high volume, fast paced transactional practice.
