Senior Legal Counsel

We are looking for an experienced and business-oriented Senior Group Legal Counsel to join our Legal Team. In this role, you will provide strategic legal advice across the organization, supporting senior leadership and key business functions on a wide range of legal, regulatory, and commercial matters. You will play a critical role in managing legal risk, ensuring compliance, and enabling the company to achieve its business objectives. 

The successful candidate will be a proactive advisor with strong commercial acumen, capable of navigating complex legal issues in a fast-paced, international environment. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, responsible for defining and implementing the legal strategy for the business area(s) you support.  You will report directly to the General Counsel in Stockholm, Sweden, and be a functional member of relevant business area leadership teams. 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Strategic Legal Advice

• Provide senior-level legal counsel to executive leadership and business units on strategic initiatives and operational matters.
• Translate complex legal issues into practical business guidance.
• Support the development and execution of company strategy while mitigating legal risk.

Commercial & Contracting

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements including:
  • Customer and supplier contracts
  • Strategic partnerships
  • Licensing and technology agreements
  • Procurement and service agreements
• Develop and maintain contract templates and negotiation playbooks.

Corporate & Governance

• Support corporate governance activities including board and committee matters and acts as a corporate secretary.
• Advise on corporate structuring, intercompany agreements, and corporate transactions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable corporate laws and governance standards.

Regulatory & Compliance

• Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments affecting the business.
• Provide guidance on compliance programs and policies.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure regulatory adherence across jurisdictions.

Risk Management & Disputes

• Identify and manage legal risks across business operations.
• Oversee external counsel in litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters.
• Develop strategies to prevent or mitigate potential disputes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with teams including Finance, HR, Sales, Procurement, and Operations.
• Provide legal training and guidance to internal stakeholders.
• Support key corporate projects including M&A, restructuring, and market expansion.

WHAT’S NEEDED FOR YOU TO THRIVE

• Law university degree, preferably Italian qualification 
• A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in law firms or as in-house in a large corporation
• Experience working in international teams on global projects
• Experience working with and presenting to senior leadership
• Strong ability to provide legal advice to global and regional stakeholders and influence decision-making
• High level of proficiency in English (both written and spoken), Italian
