Cromwell Property Group is seeking a senior legal leader to drive our corporate legal and governance strategy as Senior Legal Counsel – Corporate and Funds. Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience in corporate legal and governance (funds management/REITs preferred)

  • Strong commercial acumen and judgement

  • Law degree and current practising certificate

  • Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills


About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Legal & Commercial Officer, this Permanent Full-Time role is pivotal in shaping the company’s direction, providing high-level advice to the Board and Executive, and ensuring Cromwell’s legal and governance frameworks support our growth and compliance objectives.


Key Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Advise the Board and Executive Leadership on complex corporate legal and governance matters, influencing key business decisions and risk management.

  • Lead and develop the legal team and company secretary, fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture aligned with Cromwell’s strategic goals.

  • Oversee legal support for major corporate actions, equity raisings, and transactions, ensuring alignment with Cromwell’s business strategy and regulatory obligations.

  • Provide expert legal guidance on funds management activities, including compliance with AFSLs, scheme establishment, disclosure documents, and regulatory requirements.

  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in legal processes, governance frameworks, and risk management practices to support Cromwell’s evolving needs.


Operational Responsibility:

  • Ensure the effective delivery of day-to-day legal services, including compliance, documentation, and support for business operations across the group.
