Legal Counsel | Office of the General Counsel | Sydney or Melbourne
We are seeking an experienced lawyer to join the Office of the General Counsel based in either Sydney or Melbourne. This is an opportunity to work closely with Deloitte’s client-facing teams, providing strategic legal advice across a diverse range of high-value engagements. You’ll play a key role supporting the business as it pursues ambitious growth, while developing your career in a collaborative and highly respected legal team.
In this role, you’ll be working across a wide portfolio of commercial matters, supporting Deloitte’s client service teams on complex engagements. You will lead the review and negotiation of commercial contracts, helping the business navigate risk while enabling teams to pursue new opportunities in the market.
You’ll spend your time advising on agreements relating to consulting, system implementation and integration, managed services and cyber security engagements. Working closely with a range of stakeholders across the firm, you’ll become a trusted advisor who helps shape commercial outcomes and deliver practical legal solutions.

You may have all or some of the following skills / experiences:
5+ years PQE in commercial, corporate or technology law
Experience gained in a major law firm, in-house team, or professional services organisation
Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements including Master Services Agreements, Consulting Services Agreements and Statements of Work
Strong understanding of legal principles relating to commercial and technology law
Excellent negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to develop pragmatic solutions to complex issues
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with internal clients
Experience working in fast-paced environments managing multiple matters simultaneously
Interest in mentoring and supporting the development of junior lawyers
Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail
A proactive mindset with an interest in improving legal processes, templates and playbooks
