This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr. Real Estate Counsel - Renewables in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of renewable energy development, managing complex real estate transactions across the U.S. You will play a key part in accelerating project pipelines, negotiating leases, and ensuring compliance while balancing risk and strategic objectives. Working closely with senior management, origination, and operations teams, you will influence critical decisions that shape the company’s renewable energy portfolio. This is a high-impact, remote-friendly position for an attorney who enjoys a dynamic environment, collaborating across teams, and contributing to sustainable energy growth. Your expertise will support both immediate transactions and long-term strategic planning, while allowing you to exercise autonomy and judgment on high-value deals.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead origination and closing of renewable energy real estate transactions across the U.S.
  • Negotiate and draft commercial real estate agreements, including leases, easements, and purchase contracts
  • Manage due diligence, underwriting assets for lease terms, projected cash flows, and operator/facility information
  • Advise senior management and cross-functional teams on strategic transactions and commercial matters
  • Facilitate communication between legal, origination, pricing, and property management teams to ensure alignment
  • Assess and mitigate portfolio risk, ensuring transactions comply with internal policies and industry standards

Requirements:

  • 6–12 years of experience as a commercial real estate attorney at mid-to-large law firms and in-house at renewable energy developers
  • Knowledge of financing, development, and operation of solar, wind, and battery projects
  • Juris Doctor (JD) and bar admission in good standing in at least one U.S. state
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and drafting skills for complex commercial agreements
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with collaborative team orientation
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Comfortable working remotely and leveraging technology to manage multiple projects
