About the Opportunity: 

We are looking for an experienced attorney to manage contract-related activities and provide support for other Legal Department functions across our global business. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Assistant General Counsel (“AGC”) will have primary responsibility for drafting and negotiating various types of commercial agreements, and for managing contract administration and compliance across all sites. The AGC will also assist the General Counsel in providing support and advice to operational and functional clients on various legal matters as assigned. 

Location: Remote with <20% travel

Responsibilities: 

  • Review, draft, and negotiate all types of agreements, including product sales (both private and government), supply and services, leases, staffing and recruiting, licenses, consulting, non-disclosure agreements, settlements, and others as required.
  • Oversee contract internal review, approval, and execution, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Interpret contracts and advise management on contract terms and strategy.
  • Support compliance with contractual terms and conditions, flow down requirements, customer specifications, and government regulations (including FARs).
  • Create and maintain standard agreement templates.
  • Administer Pursuit’s contract lifecycle management system, including a database of contracts and key terms.
  • Interface directly with customers, suppliers, and other parties on a day-to-day basis regarding contract-related matters.
  • Support preparation of proposals for new business opportunities, including compliance review.
  • Assist with requests for legal information from third parties and agencies, including reports, representations, certifications, surveys, etc.
  • Develop, conduct, and oversee training of employees related to contracts and other legal topics.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

 Required Qualifications

  • JD degree from an accredited US law school. 
  • Current admission to practice and in good standing in at least one US state.
  • At least 5 years of contracts experience, either in-house in a manufacturing environment or in the corporate department of a law firm (experience with aerospace contracts, including government contracts, preferred). 
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
  • Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations. 

 Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Additional experience in other areas or corporate and business law is a plus.

Working Conditions: 

  • Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds. 
  • Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
  • Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
