Associate General Counsel

Job Summary:

The Associate General Counsel will support Stateside Brands’ legal function with a primary focus on contract review and alcohol compliance research. This role will work closely with the Chief Counsel and Paralegal to manage a high volume of commercial contracts and serve as a centralized resource for state-level law research. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts, with a primary focus on sponsorships, partnerships, and vendor agreements.
• Ensure contracts align with company standards, risk tolerance, and business objectives prior to final approval.
• Serve as the primary point person for legal research related to alcohol compliance across all 50 U.S. states and applicable international markets.
• Monitor and interpret regulatory changes affecting the alcoholic beverage industry and communicate impacts to internal stakeholders.
• Create, maintain, and continuously improve comprehensive state-by-state and international reference tools, charts, and databases to support commercial decision-making.
• Translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for non-legal teams.
• Assist with special legal research or contract-focused projects related to geographic expansion and new markets.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active license and good standing to practice law in the United States of America.
• 3+ years of experience working as a lawyer in a private commercial law firm or in-house counsel in a corporate legal department.
• Prior legal experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts in a transactional setting.
• Superior written and oral communication skills and strong legal reasoning skills.
• Strong legal research, writing, and editing skill

Compensation:

• Estimated Base Salary Range: $120,000-$150,000 USD. 
• Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, and qualifications. 
• The salary range refers to base salary only and is not inclusive of the total compensation package.
