POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking to bring in another responsible, self-starter attorney to our Legal team with one (1) to four (4) years of experience to assist with the commercial transactions we support. The ideal candidate enjoys business just as much as the law and is committed to delivering results, working as a team, and doing the small things that make a big difference. A focus on transactional matters – i.e. reviewing, analyzing, drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts - is required. This role involves assisting senior attorneys and business stakeholders in connection with supporting a broad range of commercial initiatives. Each attorney on our team strives to understand and support the business by listening, learning, anticipating, and delivering.


Currently, this is a hybrid remote/in-person position requiring at least two in-person days per week, subject to change.


KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Draft, review, and assist with a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, supplier, distribution, services, licensing, and other operational contracts. 
  • Collaborate with peers and other business leaders to ensure outcomes align with priorities and direction.
  • Analyze industry trends, case law and legislation and help execute business plans as needed.
  • Assist Legal team efforts in the creation, implementation and refinement of forms, policies and procedures and prepare and deliver trainings to business groups from time to time.
  • Provide day-to-day legal counsel to various departments and comprehensive management and resolution of legal inquiries from business team members.
  • Assist with other miscellaneous internal projects within the Legal team. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • One (1) to four (4) years of legal transactional experience in a law firm or in-house environment.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, and assisting with the negotiation of commercial contracts, such as vendor, service, supply, licensing, and other operational agreements.
  • High personal and professional integrity and the ability to establish personal credibility and trust across the organization.
    Experience with Outlook and Microsoft Word required.

BONUS POINTS IF…(but not required)

  • Experience with procurement and supply chain contracting, including vendor negotiations and risk allocation.
  • Some familiarity with franchising, including franchise agreements, FDD-related matters, and franchise compliance.
