We are looking for an experienced legal leader to join Adobe as Director, Associate General Counsel, Head of Legal – Western, leading legal strategy across Southwest Europe and Latin America.
The Opportunity
You will lead a diverse and geographically distributed legal team and work closely with senior business leaders across the region (spanning from France to Italy, Spain, Portugal to Latin America). You will provide practical, forward‑looking legal guidance while helping shape Adobe’s growth in complex and evolving regulatory environments.
This is not simply a senior legal role — it is first and foremost a people‑leadership role.
The successful candidate will be an experienced manager who builds an inclusive and supportive workplace, high‑performing teams; someone who role‑models Adobe’s values every day and brings the same rigour to developing their people as they do to their legal work.
What You’ll Do
Lead and Develop the Team
Lead, develop, and inspire a team of 7 lawyers and legal professionals across Paris and São Paulo, fostering an inclusive, high‑trust environment.
Own the team’s talent strategy, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and career development in line with Adobe’s Check‑In framework.
Support and develop junior managers, promoting strong people‑leadership practices and inclusivity.
Shape Legal Strategy
Define and implement the legal strategy for Southwest Europe (France, Italy and Spain) and Latin America(Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Argentina as main markets).
Identify and manage legal risk across commercial, regulatory, data privacy, IP, and AI‑related matters, translating risk into clear business guidance.
Advise senior leaders and contribute to industry guidelines and policy discussions.
Partner with the Business
Act as a trusted legal partner to top-level executives, providing proactive, strategic counsel.
Oversee complex commercial agreements, including licensing, services, partnerships, and AI‑related arrangements.
Support sales, marketing, finance, and product teams through practical legal guidance and targeted training.
Drive Operational Excellence
Manage external counsel relationships and the regional legal budget.
Improve legal operations through process optimization, legal technology, AI innovation and workflows, and effective knowledge management.
Ensure high standards of governance, documentation, and integrity in line with Adobe’s Code of Business Conduct.
What You’ll Bring
Experience and Qualifications
Law degree (or equivalent) and active admission to the Bar
12+ years of post-qualification legal experience, with significant in-house experience at a multinational technology, software or IP-intensive company.
> 6 years of people management experience, including direct management of lawyers at varying levels of seniority.
Proven track record of managing geographically dispersed, multicultural teams — experience managing across EMEA and LATAM strongly preferred.
Expert knowledge of commercial/IT/IP law and strong working knowledge of GDPR, AI regulation, and competition law in the French, Spanish and/or Italian context.
Experience overseeing external counsel partnerships and managing legal budgets at a regional level.
Languages
French: Native or bilingual proficiency
English: Full professional proficiency
Spanish, Portuguese, Italian: An advantage
