A fast growing Nashville based advertising agency, is seeking an In House Legal Counsel to support their marketing, intellectual property, and compliance needs. This role will work closely with leadership and internal teams to provide practical legal guidance that enables the business to move quickly and responsibly.
This position is ideal for a legal professional who enjoys contract work, regulatory research, and building in house processes, and who prefers strategic risk management over litigation.
Key Responsibilities and Experience
- Trademark and intellectual property management, including filings and enforcement support
- Copyright and content usage compliance
- Advertising and marketing compliance, including TCPA and related state laws
- Research and application of state bar advertising rules and required disclosures
- Drafting and maintaining website terms of service and privacy policies
- Employment law guidance, including ADA, leave policies, and handbook review
- Drafting and negotiating contracts and licensing agreements
- Cross functional partnership with leadership on strategic legal matters
- Coordination with outside counsel when escalation is required
Qualifications
- 2 plus years of legal research or in house legal experience
- Strong contract drafting and review skills
- Comfort researching and learning new regulatory areas
- Ability to communicate legal risk clearly to non lawyers
- Interest in long term growth within an in house environment
- Juris Doctorate Degree
- Must have active license to practice law in Tennessee
