In House Legal Counsel (Fintech)

You will draft, negotiate, and manage a broad range of commercial agreements, balancing legal risk with business objectives while advising on novel, high-risk issues across multiple jurisdictions. Working closely with senior stakeholders across legal, compliance, risk, product, and technology teams, you will shape legal strategy, oversee litigation and external counsel where required, and develop governance frameworks that evolve alongside changing regulatory requirements.

The role also offers the opportunity to drive innovation by partnering with engineering teams to implement AI-enabled legal solutions, streamline legal processes, and translate complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical guidance that empowers the business to operate efficiently.

Requirements:

• Qualified legal professional with 5+ years' post-qualification experience in corporate or commercial law, ideally within the fintech or financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of corporate, commercial, and fintech legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Commercially minded with the ability to assess legal risk while enabling business objectives and supporting informed decision-making.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience advising global or multi-jurisdictional organizations, with knowledge of data privacy regulations considered an advantage.
• Comfortable leveraging AI and technology to improve legal processes, with an interest in legal automation and innovation.
