We are looking for a motivated lawyer who has experience in mid or top tier law firms, or has worked in-house in a reputable organisation, and wants to work for a great cause, to join our Legal team in our Macquarie University office.

 

The role will report to the Head of Legal, the key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Assisting the Head of Legal in reviewing and advising on all marketing material and ensuring that they are compliant with all relevant Competition and Consumer Laws; including media contracts for ESO and the Network
  • Supporting the Head of Legal in competition and consumer law matters, privacy, property and commercial related matters (including supplier contracts), as well as provide support with respect to all laws, and regulations that affect the organisation
  • Experience in property and leasing matters would be favourable, but is not expected. 

 

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:

  • 2-8 years’ experience as a lawyer in mid or top tier firms, or has worked in-house in a reputable organisation
  • A current Legal Practicing Certificate
  • Solid experience in competition and consumer matters, providing privacy, property and commercial, and legal advice on laws and compliance
  • Solid experience in drafting contracts
  • Knowledge of laws, in particular consumer and competition laws, and privacy laws
  • Experience in retail leases legislation in all states would be favourable.
  • Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities
  • Ability to manage matters independently and deliver proactive solution driven commercial legal advice or outcomes
