Who: An excellent opportunity has arisen for a bright, dynamic media lawyer to join a small legal & business affairs team in a vibrant, lively office in Soho. Ideally to start as soon as possible. Reporting to the General Counsel/COO, and working within a small team managed by two senior lawyers.
What: Key responsibilities are to deliver legal and business affairs support on a wide range of talent deals and agreements and to provide related advice to all agents across the agency including for comedy, film and TV, theatre, books, actors and commercials. You will enjoy an immensely varied role providing advice in connection with our impressive roster of clients.
Requirements/Knowledge: Solid understanding of media industry, landscape and key players of TV and film production in UK.
Skills: Essential skills include drafting and negotiating skills and an understanding of IP law. In addition, scripted experience would be desirable, including writers (including book to screen options) and directors agreements, option agreements, actor, creator and influencer agreements. Some experience of UK collective agreements (Equity/WGGB) and US collective agreements would be desirable but not essential. Knowledge of GDPR/data protection would be an advantage.
