Full time office – Randburg
Someone about to be at Senior Associate level
More generalist role – someone who is able to cover a number of legal matters that come up
Someone technically sound in legal matters across the responsibilities listed in job spec below
Contracts with vendors OR Medical Schemes OR Partnership PV contracts – draft, do negotiations, conclude
employment issues – contracts, performance, misconduct – advising managers, regulations for the industry – compliance etc.
Healthcare background – digital health tech / data and healthcare services business (either of these would be ideal)
Someone who has legal practice exposure but ideally CORPORATE experience is needed.
PURPOSE
Seeking a dynamic and qualified legal professional to join our clients team as a Legal Counsel. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in company law and a demonstrated ability and willingness to cover other areas of the law, including employment law.
Candidate must be flexible and enjoy working within a small, entrepreneurial environment that is mission-driven, results-driven, and tech-oriented.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Company Law Expertise:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of company law, providing valuable legal advice on corporate matters.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards.
Legal Advisory:
- Provide legal guidance and support to various departments within the organization, contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Analyze and interpret laws, judgments and regulations with a focus on their impact on the company.
Contract Drafting and Review:
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts related to company operations, ensuring legal compliance.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement effective contract management processes.
Employment matters:
- Demonstrate an ability and willingness to cover employment law matters.
- Provide advice on employment related legal issues and contribute to the continuous development of employment policies.
Litigation Support:
- Collaborate with external legal counsel and manage litigation processes when necessary.
- Provide support in dispute resolution and legal proceedings.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years post-admission experience
- Experience in an in-house legal role or regular secondments to corporate clients will be advantageous
- Proven ability to draft, review and negotiate various legal agreements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to convey complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Education
- LLB Degree from a recognized institution
- Admitted Attorney with a valid practicing certificate
