Legal Counsel (Corporate & Product Compliance)

We’re looking for a <\/span>Legal Counsel (Corporate & Product Compliance)<\/b> <\/span>to establish and lead the legal operations across corporate, employment, and product domains. This is a highly cross\-functional role where you’ll work closely with leadership, product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure the business grows responsibly and in compliance with global standards.

What you’ll do

Corporate & Operational Legal
<\/h3>

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and partner agreements to protect business interests

• Review and manage employment and B2B contracts across multiple jurisdictions
  <\/p><\/li>

• Establish contract templates, documentation standards, and internal legal workflows
  <\/p><\/li>

• Advise leadership and cross\-functional teams on day\-to\-day operational legal matters
  <\/p><\/li>

• Ensure compliance with local regulations across key international markets (EU, UK, US, Japan, South Korea)
  <\/p><\/li> <\/ul>

  Product & Consumer Compliance
  <\/h3>

  • Act as the primary legal partner for Product, Design, and Marketing teams
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Draft, maintain, and update user\-facing legal documents (Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy)
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Advise on data privacy, consumer protection, subscription models, refunds, cancellations, and payment flows
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product to ensure privacy\-by\-design implementation
    <\/p><\/li>

  • Provide risk\-based, commercially pragmatic guidance balancing compliance and growth
    <\/p><\/li> <\/ul>

    Data Protection & Privacy (DPO Responsibilities)
    <\/h3>

    • Serve as Data Protection Officer (or equivalent function)
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Oversee compliance with GDPR, CCPA, UK GDPR, and relevant international privacy frameworks
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Monitor data processing activities and maintain records of processing
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Lead responses to data subject requests, data incidents, and regulatory inquiries
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Develop internal privacy governance frameworks, policies, and training programs
      <\/p><\/li>

    • Advise on cross\-border data transfers, vendor agreements, and third\-party risk assessments
      <\/p><\/li> <\/ul>

      Requirements<\/h3>

      
      <\/h2>

      • Master’s degree in Law; bar admission in an EU jurisdiction preferred
        <\/p><\/li>

      • 5+ years of experience as Legal Counsel or similar role, ideally within a tech, SaaS, or digital product company
        <\/p><\/li>

      • Strong background in commercial contracts, employment structures, and corporate legal operations
        <\/p><\/li>

      • Deep knowledge of data privacy and consumer protection regulations (GDPR, CCPA, UK GDPR, and equivalents in Japan and South Korea)
        <\/p><\/li>

      • Experience drafting and localizing user\-facing legal documents (Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, etc.)
        <\/p><\/li>

      • Strong business judgment with the ability to provide pragmatic, risk\-based recommendations
        <\/p><\/li>

      • Excellent communication skills in English and experience collaborating across multidisciplinary, international teams
