What you’ll do

We are seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to support our data center operations in Finland and in the EMEA region. The key responsibilities include
 

  • Providing legal advice on contracts related to data center operations, including service agreements, vendor contracts, and lease agreements.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, national, and EU regulations concerning data protection (GDPR), environmental laws, and privacy.
  • Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements (such as NDAs, services agreements, real estate leasing agreements, site acquisitions, procurement agreements, commercial agreements for complex business transactions, PPA’s, colocations) and participating in meetings and negotiations with internal and external parties.
  • Conducting due diligence for M&A, JVs, and strategic investments across Europe.
  • Managing senior stakeholder negotiations and external counsel relationships.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business objectives and legal compliance.
  • Navigating planning, permitting, environmental compliance and land use issues while contributing to risk management strategies.

What We’re Looking For

  • Master’s degree in law with 5+ years of relevant experience working in a law firm or in-house, preferably within data center, construction, real estate, infrastructure or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of commercial agreements and knowledge in construction frameworks such as YSE1998 and FIDIC
  • Understanding of GDPR, security and privacy related regulation
  • Ability to manage supplier and technical infrastructure contracts
  • Experience working in an international setting and exposure to EU regulation
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills in both Finnish and English, other languages are appreciated.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a face-paced environment.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with high integrity and a collaborative working style.
