Roundtable Hybrid (Paris, Paris, France) Full-time 5 days ago
Legal Counsel

About the team

We are 50+ at Roundtable today and counting!

The legal team is currently composed of 5 people. Nicolas heads the legal team. Prior to joining Roundtable in September 2022 (as #3 employee), Nicolas worked at Linklaters LLP as a litigator. Marina joined in 2024, after successfully graduating from the College of Europe and completing the Bluebook traineeship with the European Commission. Domenico, Oxford graduate with prior experience in arbitration and in-house with an investment fund, joined in 2025. Giovanni joined the team early 2026, after having interned at A&O Shearman. Justine also joined in 2026, after experience with the Bluebook traineeship with the European Commission and with the French Embassy in London.

The legal team operates as a lean and highly collaborative team, working closely with Operations, Product and Sales on some of Roundtable’s most complex topics.

As a Legal Counsel, you will bring your own expertise to the team while continuing to broaden it across new legal areas and jurisdictions. Beyond your individual contribution, we expect you to raise the collective bar through collaboration, knowledge-sharing and sound legal judgment.

About the role

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our legal team and work on some of the most complex legal questions arising from Roundtable’s activities across Europe.

The scope is intentionally broad: from structuring investment vehicles to navigating regulatory, corporate and tax matters across multiple jurisdictions, you will work at the intersection of law, product and business.

We are looking for someone with strong legal foundations and judgment, who is comfortable going deep into unfamiliar topics, challenging existing approaches and helping the team maintain a high bar for legal excellence as Roundtable scales.

Your responsibilities as Legal Counsel:

  • On a daily basis, work with various fields of law and will become an expert at managing the balance between corporate, tax and regulatory implications, always keeping an holistic view:

    • Corporate: You will be faced, on a daily basis, with a wide array of corporate questions relating to the structuring and management of the co-investment vehicles/funds/securitization vehicules, both in France and in Luxembourg. You will be exposed to several legal systems (France, Germany, US, UK, Luxembourg, Spain, etc) and will need to understand their corporate intricacies.

    • Tax: With several types of investment vehicles and investors coming from all places, you will become an expert at managing the ever-changing tax rules (in Luxembourg and France mainly).

    • Regulatory : As Roundtable operates in a regulated environment, you will be confronted with questions arising out of MIFID, AIFMD, 2004 Securitization Act in Luxembourg, UK Financial Promotion Rules, and so on.

Of course, we don’t expect you to know all of this when you join!

  • Ensure a continuous legal watch to identify opportunities for legal innovation and ensure we are always at the edge of what is feasible.

  • Work closely with product, sales and operations teams to define, automate and improve our legal processes.

  • Assist on day-to-day legal matters of the company (e.g., Compliance, Corporate, IP, Tax).

  • Manage, interact with and coordinate high-caliber stakeholders - you will interact with top Venture Capital and Private Equity firms, family offices, (institutional) investors and lawyers working at reputable law firms

  • Grow with Roundtable’s legal team.

As an early employee and all along the life of the company your role will be at the center of Roundtable’s strategy.

Main Challenges :

The main challenges you will be confronted with are:

  • Striking the right balance between maintaining a high level of rigour while bringing pragmatic solutions to the table.

  • Multidimensional and complex constraints (Regulatory, Tax, Corporate).

  • Navigating multi-jurisdictional and non-harmonised regulatory, tax, and corporate frameworks across Europe.

Preferred experience

  • You have a Master’s degree in law obtained from a European university.

  • You have 4+ years of professional experience, including experience at a top-tier law firm, leading institution, or similarly demanding legal environment.

  • You have developed strong expertise in at least one legal field (Corporate, tax or regulatory), while being curious and comfortable going beyond your core area of expertise.

  • You are fluent in English and French. Additional European languages are a plus.

  • You demonstrate extreme rigour and integrity.

  • You master legal research.

  • You have a strong interest in the business and you are able to work effectively within a team (including with non legal colleagues).

  • You have a strong interest in the business and enjoy working collaboratively with both legal and non-legal teams.

You don’t need to tick every box above to apply. We value exceptional people with strong fundamentals, intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn quickly.

Benefits

  • A challenging work experience where you will help build and own an ambitious product.

  • A quality-driven environment.

  • Awesome colleagues with high ambitions.

  • Offices located in the heart of Paris + a remote-friendly environment.

  • Competitive compensation.
