This is a 12-month Contract. In our legal team, we expect a variety of challenging, international projects, which you will accompany as a Legal Counsel, to meet the constant challenges of our rapidly growing business, we are looking for a strong team player who feels comfortable in a very dynamic, international and fast-growing environment and who is motivated to work independently on issues. You will be involved in all business areas, and, after a short induction period, you will catch legal and regulatory risk before it becomes a problem, and to make sure new legal requirements actually get built into the business rather than sitting in a document no one reads. . You will take care of implementing all relevant compliance requirements / guidelines of the METRO Group.
Core Activities:
Compliance and regulatory monitoring: Tracking new legislation (e.g., DSA, GPSR, consumer protection law) and translating it into internal legal updates, including gap analyses.
Implementation of new legal requirements: Translating new legislation into internal processes and policies, working with IT/Product on technical implementation.
Cross-functional communication: Breaking down complex legal matters for non-legal stakeholders and supporting internal audits/compliance checks.
Documentation and organization: Maintaining a central compliance knowledge base and tracking implementation deadlines for new regulations.
Trainings: Developing and facilitating trainings for non-legal colleagues
Group Compliance and guidelines: Implementation of Group guidelines, fulfilling regular Group compliance tasks
You've got
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in Legal and Compliance. LL.M. (Master of Laws) or equivalent legal qualification.
Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and effectively.
Fluent English a must and German a plus.
Must have an EU work visa.
