Senior Counsel

Position Overview

A premier employment law firm in the Chicago area is seeking an accomplished Employment Law Litigation Attorney to join their distinguished legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated employment matters while providing strategic advisory services to high-profile clients across various industries in employment law and labor and relations.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle complex employment litigation matters from inception through resolution, including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, and wrongful termination cases
• Provide proactive employment law advisory services and strategic counseling to corporate clients
• Coach and guide clients through sensitive employment situations, policy development, and compliance matters
• Conduct training sessions and workshops for client management teams on employment law best practices
• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, severance packages, and policy documents
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on employment aspects of corporate transactions
• Manage discovery processes, depositions, and court appearances as required

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
• Minimum 5 years of employment law experience at a top-tier law firm
• Proven track record in employment litigation with demonstrable courtroom experience
• Substantial advisory and counseling experience with corporate clients
• Strong business acumen with ability to provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Active bar admission in North Carolina (or ability to obtain promptly)
