As part of SIX Group, a leading global financial services and market infrastructure provider, this role sits within the Legal function in a team dedicated to supporting the Business Unit Exchanges, one of the four core Business Units of SIX. BU Exchanges operates markets in Switzerland, Spain, and the UK, making this a truly international mission at the heart of European capital markets. Your primary focus will be on the Spanish Stock Exchange, working closely with colleagues across SIX Group to ensure consistent, harmonized, and robust legal support. You will collaborate with peers in Switzerland and the UK to deliver integrated solutions across jurisdictions. You will join a small, international team of lawyers partnering with stakeholders across the business and with colleagues from Legal & Compliance and other corporate functions, contributing to strategic initiatives that shape the future of our markets.

What You Will Do
- Provide legal advice to the Business Unit Exchanges on a wide range of topics, from day-to-day matters to strategic, group-wide projects involving international collaboration.
- Analyze and assess business initiatives for their compliance with applicable laws, such as Spanish supervisory law (e. g. Securities Market and Investment Services Act), EU regulations (e. g. MIFID and MIFIR), competition law, contract law, and regulations of the Exchange (eg. Listing Rules or Trading Rules) and collaborate on contract related matters relevant to the Business Unit.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across the Business Unit Exchanges and Corporate Functions and assess legal risks and provide recommendations on actions options within the regulatory framework of trading of securities such as equities, structured products, exchange traded funds or bonds.
- Prepare submissions to, and liaise with, CNMV, the Spanish regulator, as part of key interactions with authorities, and support the Business Unit Exchanges in its diverse and frequent dealings with CNMV.
- Company secretarial skills to assist with matters for Spanish incorporated entities assisting in liaising with board directors, key stakeholders and coordinating timely delivery of relevant and concise board papers.
What You Bring
- Master’s degree in Law and admission to the Spanish Bar; additional legal or regulatory qualifications are an advantage.
- 4–5 years of relevant professional experience, ideally at a law firm with exposure to financial regulation and company secretarial matters and/or as in‑house counsel in the financial sector.
- Pragmatic, solution‑oriented mindset, combining strong analytical skills with high quality standards and the ability to manage priorities in a dynamic, fast‑changing environment.
- Strong interest in exchange business and financial market infrastructure, with the ambition to further specialize in exchange and securities law and to understand the technical aspects of market operations and trading processes.
- Business‑fluent English, both written and spoken; knowledge of German or Spanish is an advantage but not mandatory.
