As Senior Legal Counsel, you will strengthen ZEAL’s commercial legal capacity and support the company’s growth strategy. Acting as a pragmatic legal partner to Product, Growth, and Commercial teams, you will take end-to-end ownership of legal support for selected growth initiatives, including new propositions, partnerships, and monetization models.
The role combines strong commercial contracting expertise with a legal operations mindset, helping build repeatable playbooks, templates, and guardrails so growth can scale without requiring linear increases in legal effort. You will work within ZEAL’s established service model, collaborating closely with Legal leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and the Regulatory function while ensuring disciplined use of intake processes and CLM workflows, including contracting initiated through Ironclad.
Provide pragmatic, solution-oriented legal advice to Product, Growth, and Commercial teams on new initiatives, partnerships, and monetization models, enabling progress through clear “yes-if” guidance and risk mitigation strategies.
Lead the drafting and negotiation of strategic commercial agreements, including partnership, platform, services, and marketing arrangements.
Define negotiation strategies and fallback positions based on established legal playbooks, aligning key stakeholders early to avoid late-stage escalations.
Support market expansion initiatives by working closely with the Regulatory function and coordinating external counsel where required.
Translate external legal advice and regulatory insights into practical internal standards, templates, and playbooks that can be reused across initiatives.
Own defined growth and partnering workstreams end-to-end, structuring complex issues, driving cross-functional decision-making, and documenting outcomes clearly.
Contribute to a scalable legal service model by applying disciplined intake, prioritization, and routing practices, ensuring contracts follow established CLM workflows.
Continuously identify opportunities to streamline legal support for growth initiatives through improved processes, automation, and knowledge management.
Significant experience in commercial contracting and negotiations, particularly for strategic partnerships, SaaS or digital services, and commercial frameworks.
Proven track record advising digital product, platform, or e-commerce businesses operating with fast development and iteration cycles.
Strong ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in ambiguous environments, structuring problems, driving alignment, and delivering clear outcomes.
Pragmatic risk management approach with the ability to communicate complex legal issues in clear, business-focused recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Legal ops mindset and experience working within process-driven legal delivery models, including structured intake processes, CLM systems, templates, and playbooks.
Exposure to regulated consumer industries such as gaming/lottery, fintech, payments, telecom, or similar sectors is advantageous.
Exposure to multi-jurisdictional EU/UK environments, including coordinating external counsel and converting advice into scalable internal guidance, is a plus.
