As a Legal Counsel, you will join a team of 15 dedicated lawyers of European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) who supports the various business units within EEX and its affiliated companies (EEX Group) on legal matters arising within an internationally operating group of companies (including also multiple exchanges and clearing houses). 
Within a team of colleagues, your main focus will be on topics arising from corporate and commercial law.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Advice on M&A activities including related anti-trust assessments
  • Maintenance and further development of robust corporate governance
  • Contribution to group-wide harmonization of governance standards and anti-trust framework
  • Drafting and negotiation of contracts
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments at national and European Levels

You will provide legal advice to our business units and the management bodies of EEX to actively support them in decision-making processes. Working languages will be English and German. 
As part of the team, you will be able to deepen your knowledge in corporate and commercial law at the crossroads with the energy industry, including topics such as trading, market infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks. Your skills:

  • Fully qualified lawyer in German law or comparable international qualification
  • Fluent communication and presentation skills in German and English (written and spoken); other languages are welcome
  • First experiences and interest in corporate law and commercial law
  • Willingness to deepen your knowledge in these and other fields of law
  • Experience in drafting legal documents and negotiating contracts in English and German
  • Interest in and commitment to professional development and participation in trainings
  • Independent, open-minded, precise, and solution-oriented way of working within a team and across Departments
